An effort is underway to make badly needed renovations to the stadium. Improvements are to include:
- Replace the grass playing surface with synthetic turf
- Construct adequate bathroom facilities
- Increase the home side seating capacity
- Construct a new concession stand

The synthetic turf field being considered is Field Turf, which is being used by the following NFL teams: Pittsburgh Steelers, Indianapolis Colts, Denver Broncos, New England Patriots, San Diego Chargers, and Houston Texans. It is also being used by the following colleges:
- Maryland
- Penn State
- Pitt
- Army
- Navy
- Rutgers
- Nebraska
- Boston College
- Colorado State
- Yale
The idea has been presented to the Board of Education and was very well received. The BOE had a number of very good questions and suggestions and commended the group for an excellent proposal. While a few other local schools are considering similiar improvements, none have approached the BOE (who must approve any such project) as Middletown has.
